DENAN PSE - SAFETY MARK FOR JAPANThe Electrical Appliance Material Control Law (DENTORI) was enforced in 1961 to prevent hazards and impediments that might be caused by electrical products. Since the enforcement of DENTORI, the level of product safety has been improved due to a refinement in technology and increased safety awareness among suppliers. In view of the existing level of safety and the need to limit government intervention in the field of product safety, an amendment of DENTORI was published in August, 1999. As a result, a new Electrical appliance and Material Safety Law (DENAN) was introduced. DENAN is a mandatory national law administered by the Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).
